WELCOME!
Welcome to the 'Through' World! When teenagers and young adults are suddenly sucked through a vortex while nobody is looking,
things might become a bit too weird! Some will break, some will disappear and some will completely light up! Still, they can have a merry time
with the each other and make it out of this strange place! Go back home! Well, 'home', whatever it might be, isn't remembered by our ten 'heroes'.

Well, that was incredibly helpful. Fran thought smugly as the woman finish speaking. As far as she was concerned those things had been becoming increasingly obvious, but it was still good to have them explained. She couldn't help but feel shaken as the woman disappeared though, that was unexpected and Fran didn't like the feeling it gave her. For a moment she was unsure, what was the next step? And how could she neutralize her powers when she didn't even know what they were? Right now the only thing she was willing to take on was that this stuff was real. It was happening to her right now and she had now other choice but to accept that and move on.
When Mel took the lead and walked up to one of the doors Fran was almost thankful. Almost. She was thankful that someone took the initiative and inadvertently replied to her unspoken question, but she hated the fact that it was Mel. Okay, so what were her choices now? She could follow the American kid and Asian woman out of door two, but she had no idea where that lead and she honestly wasn't into the idea of being stuck God-knows-where with a bunch of strangers. Or she could follow Mel, a woman she already detested for being a snotty, uptight, british wh**e. Common sense told her not to go through one of those doors alone. I guess it's time to gather some minions. And she'd just spotted the perfect two.
Smiling sweetly, she walked quickly over too the boy who'd arrived last. His dramatic entry had interrupted the replied that she'd been waiting for, but she thought she could forgive him for now. "Professora X, as you've called her is a mute." She informed him, it felt good to know something someone else didn't. "She can't make any noises at all actually, she communicates telepathically. That's right, isn't it?" She asked, giving the silent girl a quick glance, Fran didn't really need the confirmation, she was just repeating what the woman in white had told them all before the boy had arrived. But he didn't know that so it didn't matter! She continued to smile at them both, reaching her hand she offered it to the girl. "Want some help up?"

"I gathered that, thanks, by the words in my mind," he said, his voice dry. He was a bit stressed, a bit unsettled -- that tended to manifest in a sarcastic streak a mile wild. Normally, he was quite friendly, but his smile seemed more than a little strained. He was smiling, nevertheless, a bit lopsidedly at the new girl.
His hands were deep in his pockets, and he was fiddling with his lighter, watching people divide and leave. "I think I've seen this movie," he said, to no one in particular, just talking to let the words out. "And it's probably a bad idea to split up. Though, really, too late now, seeing as everyone already left."
At this point he took the lighter -- one of the cheap ones you get at a petrol station for a dollar -- and started fussing with it, lighting it and then putting it out over and over. His finger got the familiar scratchy feeling from the harsh flint. He was feeling fidgety and uncomfortable, his hand flickering from rubbing his neck to running through his hair, to tugging on the turtleneck of his shirt and back again.

"Hey. Don't waste that lighter. You might need it later." Standing up, he felt angry at the boy for wasting what could potentially be a very precious resource. "It's very obvious to me that if any of us are going to make it through, we need to stick together. Our collective gifts will probably be invaluable when combined, but useless when alone. So, as a group, we need to pick a door and go through it, and then work together to try and get back home." Moving into the center of the room, he studied each of the doors calmly.
Calmness was the key in a situation like this. Rushed decisions would not help here, in fact, they could even lead to a rushed death. Neither of the doors had any clues to what was behind them, and that old lady certainly hadn't told anyone. This left them too choose based on numbers. The asian girl and the black guy had gone through door 2, so maybe they should go through just in case they were in trouble, and in his opinion, 4 was to be avoided - the number 4 meant death in Japanese. That left 1, 2 and 3. 1 called to him for some reason.
Still undecided he waited for the reaction of the group to make even the ghost of a decision. Hopefully that decision would be made for him.

Julian snorted out a laugh, tilting his head vaguely toward Hiko. "Oh, touche, my friend, touche. I vote door four -- no real reason. It's one third of my lucky number, sounds kind of nice. Or--" he paused, as if he was considering. "Three. I also vote three -- number 33 is on my back after all right now, might as well honor my countrymen."
He thought in numerology, apparently, associating the numbers with flashes of his life before anything else. So far he knew that he liked the number 12 and the goalie Patrick Roy -- other than that, he was lost. He shrugged a little, and shifted his pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. Tapping one out, he worked his lighter one last time (smirking a bit toward Hiko) and lit his cigarette.
He took a deep drag and breathed it out through his nose. He held the cigarette like most people would hold a joint, between his thumb and forefinger.
"f**k it," he said, on a harsh out-breath. "I don't care, someone else pick."

Mel stood before door number one. It didn’t look any different from any of the others except for the small number that marked it apart. A couple had disappeared through door two – the others seemed to be inclined to go through door three. Would no one follow her?
She pushed the door open, peaking in before she committed to this decision. “This one doesn’t look scary, just another hallway – see.” She stepped through, feeling immediately that the air was different on the other side. As if there was an air source that came from somewhere outside and the faint sound of water running. Hmm, interesting. “I think I hear water…” she took another step and it got darker as she got further in.
“Come on,” she said, a little snappy. Someone had to listen to her – it scared her to think that no one wanted to come with her. “Julian? Fran? Hiko?” hey, at least she remembered their names … “Or,” she took a step back, suddenly showing a bit of humility. “Do you guys want to try a different door?”

Honestly, Fran was beginning not to care what door they took. She just didn't want to go with Mel, she hated that idea of submitting to that woman's leadership. So she straightened up and looked decisive. "No, I don't like the number one. It's boring. I'll take the biggest number. You lot can either follow me, or you can continue to sluggishly decide which hell you'd like to enter." She said as she quickly strode across the room to door number four. Turning around, she thought about waiting for a response, but decided it would only cause more delay and more likeliness that people would follow Mel.
Flicking her hair confidently over her shoulder, she gazed at them for a moment with a single bony hand on her jutting hip, as if she was assessing a class of naughty school children. "Catch yah later. Feel free to join me, if you like." Grinning, she winked flirtatiously, turn and headed down the long black hallway into the unknown.

If Nadie had a voice...she would be trying to have followers. Though now considering it, she was kind of glad she didn't have a voice to speak of...or other sounds for that matter. Nadie hadn't always been good with history, but she could recall that being Caesar wasn't good...and being Brutus was better. That was going to be her edge in this game.
She wanted to yell, "JUST PICK A D**N DOOR!" Nadie stood by the doors, watching as both girls fought for the lead. The Asian kid had the right idea, trying to get everyone focused. Though no one wanted to be the next to go. She glanced at Julian as he lighted a cig, really wishing she'd had one as well. Thing was, she didn't know if she needed her lungs any time soon, so she refrained. She needed to choose her verbal sponsor.
Nadie stood there pondering for a moment and decided to use her very private speech ability to her favor. She reached over and touched Mel's shoulder. -If we all keep sitting here, nothing is going to get done. Who knows how long these doors are going to be open? Trick or not, don't you want to get out of here?- her eyes seemed pleading. Between the two women, Mel seemed more reasonable...Fran just seemed whinny. Nadie just saw all her disadvantages and she had to make and alliance with someone...she wouldn't be able to make it through this alone.
-Look, I'm sorry about earlier, but I don't really know who to trust. Though now I we have to put this behind us. Let's go through Door number one, they say you should always go with your first decision, right? Tell everyone we're leaving and that we probably have a better chance at figuring this out as a group.-

Alex had realised that the doors were identical in every way except the numbers at their entrances. Therefore there were no disadvantages or advantages to be had from the doors themselves, only the number of people that went through them. Alex was thankful that that at least could be something to base his choice on. He didn't trust luck - it certainly didn't seem to favour him - and Alex made a point of not leaving his fate up to some universal whim. Everything, from his breakfast to his shoes for the day, had to be chosen reasonably by weighing pros and cons. Otherwise is was stupid and stupid was one thing Alex didn't want to be here. So far door number two was winning as it had two people through it. However, it looked like soon door number one would as well. Why couldn't they all just group together and pick a door? Didn't they want to stick together? Call it instinctual or whatever you wanted but he sure as hell did.
He opened his mouth to suggest this but closed it again almost immediately. There was no point in rushing into anything. He should probably stick to the whole silent and attentive thing. The less they knew about him the more he could exploit them later, if the need arised, and the less they could do the same to him. Suspicion might not be the greatest trait but Alex had it in large quantities. Who knew? Perhaps it would be useful here.
He looked to the remaining inhabitants of the aptly named 'white room', wondering what they'd decide. It would affect his decision too, although they may not have realised it yet. Alex didn't much like leaving his fate up to someone else's hands but he didn't have a choice. He had to be smart. He had to survive.

Frustrated at the whole group of people there, Hiko felt like telling them all exactly what he thought of them. However, in a situation like this, that wouldn't be particularly useful. Looking at each door in greater detail, he decided that no amount of observation would be useful. Nothing could be sen through any of the doors that could help make the decision.
Moving over to the door labeled one, he stuck his head in, looked around then pulled it out again. "I reckon number one guys. I mean, there is no way of distinguishing any difference about destinations from just looking at them, and I have a hunch that they are somehow interconnected..."
Standing next to the door, he though hard about the people - in fact, he didn't even know anybody else's names. He was always bad with names, but he hadn't even heard them this time... Oh well. He'd learn them soon enough. He remembered someone calling out his name very faintly just a few seconds ago, but that could have just been a trick of the mind. Looking at them all, he waited for a response.

Nadie looked at Mel for a long tie before the woman gave a nod in reply. Though it seemed as if she was just going to let everyone else decide on their own, because the woman turned and went Hiko into the unknown of door one. Nadie stood there, wondering if anyone else would follow. There were still 2 doors left and also 6 people. The Russian wouldn't be here to see through their decision, but she hoped she was making the right one.
Hiko spoke up, talking about there being no better choice. The mute girl didn't know much about taking listening to other peoples hunches, but maybe he was right. Maybe they were connect some how and they'd all run into each other all over again down the road. She reached over and touched Hiko, nodding to him. Her gray eyes glanced back at everyone, standing around confused, before walking into the depths of the dark doorway.

Hiko gave up. Nobody here seemed to be able to make a decision on what to do. "Bye then everyone. And don't say I didn't warn you if you get stuck by yourself." Turning around viciously, he breathed in deeply, then walked briskly directly into the dark hole, relaxing as the darkness swallowed him up.
